Meet the Ipsos Observer Team
Tony Harper – Managing Director, Observer
Tony joined Ipsos in 1994 after graduating from Queen Mary College. Tony has worked in a variety of different roles including Media, Loyalty and Marketing, before focusing on developing our Global Data Collection services. In 2008 he became Head of Ipsos' Direct Services Division (now Observer).
David Stradling, Head of Business Development
David has had a varied career before joining Ipsos at the beginning of 2011. His early career was spent in market research, working for a number of well known agencies and consultancies. After a career break to travel the world and watch cricket in, he returned to work in the automotive industry. In this time he held several commercial roles focused on managing and improving sales performance.

Matthew Webster, International Research Director
Matt took up his present role in 2010 and has over 13 years consumer and business to business research experience gained within Ipsos and other research agencies. Matt began his career at Ipsos in 1997 and worked in the Capibus, International Services and Retail & Leisure teams before taking time out to travel.
Martin van Wezel, International Development Manager
Martin has been with Ipsos since joining the International CatiCentre in 1998. In his time with the business he has managed the Call Centre and Translation Team. Since 2006, Martin has become an International research expert for telephone and face to face research, managing both external and internal clients.
Stuart Peterkin, Research Manager
Stuart joined Ipsos in 2001 and has 32 years of market research experience! In his current role Stuart services both external field and tab clients as well as Ipsos Group companies when it comes to international telephone, face to face interviewing, central location tests and mystery shopping.
Daniel Flett, Senior Research Executive
Daniel joined Ipsos in April 2005 as a telephone interviewer but had a number of different roles there before becoming B2B supervisor on international projects. Daniel took on his present role in September 2008 and has since worked on many important global studies for key clients. Dan is a qualified solicitor by obtaining his postgraduate qualifications from the College of Law in London.
Ruxandra Dihoiu, Research Executive
Ruxandra joined the Ipsos Observer team in the UK in November 2011. After gaining a Bachelor’s degree in Management and a Master’s degree in International Marketing, her career with Ipsos began in 2005 as a Project Manager for Ipsos Interactive Services based in Romania, where she led the Project Managers team servicing the Public Affairs, Loyalty and Media divisions. As an expert project manager she handled complex projects, for clients such as Orange, Ernst & Young and the Daily Mail.

Peter Cooper, Research Director
Peter joined Ipsos in 1992 as a telephone interviewer and has worked his way up through the business to become Research Director for Omnibus in 2011. Peter works across all market specialism’s and has worked with various Government departments.
Sarah Shepherd, Associate Director
Sarah joined the Omnibus team as an Associate Director at the beginning of 2011. She has more than 17 years experience in Research and Operational Management. Sarah has expertise and experience working for a wide range of Commercial and Public Sector clients.
Linda Joseph, Quality Manager
Linda joined the company initially as a senior research executive in 1978, founding the Consumer/FMCG department. She then rejoined in 1993, helping to establish the omnibus department. She works in the Ipsos Global Omnibus Services department. Her current role in the team is twofold - as a Research Manager and as the Quality Manager.
Judith Ryall, Research Manager
Jude has over 10 years market research experience gained previously at other multi-national research agencies following an earlier career as a Qualified General Nurse. She has extensive experience running GB & International syndicated projects using a variety of methodologies. Jude works primarily on Global Omnibus projects.
Michael Sutton, Research Manager
Michael joined the Observer team in 2012. He has a number of years experience working in both Omnibus and ad hoc research, running large projects for major clients both domestically and internationally. In his current role he works across both the Omnibus and Field & Tab teams. He initially honed his research skills working on cost of living indices after graduation. Michael attended Sheffield University where he obtained a BA (Hons) in Modern History.
Dan Marshall, Senior Research Executive
Dan has worked within the Market Research industry since leaving Oxford Brookes University in 2004 with a Bachelors degree in European Business. Dan has been with the Omnibus team since 2009 working mainly on Capibus.
Laurence Smith-Dixon, Research Executive
Laurence joined Ipsos in 2011 as a research executive, having graduated from Bournemouth University with a BA (Hons) in Finance. Laurence spent a year with TNS-RI as a placement student working on FMCG and retail trackers taking on a number of different roles, including the management of fieldwork and all aspects of the data collection process. Laurence is now a member of the Omnibus team working mainly on Capibus.
Tom Magill, Research Executive
Tom joined the Omnibus team in October 2011, having spent a year working as a telephone interviewer for various organisations including Ipsos MORI. Tom graduated from Liverpool John Moore’s university in July 2010 with a BA (Hons) in International Journalism, with a specific background in International Relations and Radio.
